Customs officials in Bangkok’s Don Muang airport arrested a woman yesterday who was carrying more than 2 kg methamphetamine worth over 7 million from China to Thailand.
The arrest was made at 11am on January 16th by Mr. Paisarn Chuenchitra the Deputy Director General Department of Customs. Ms. Nanthicha,26, was charged with possession for distribution 2.090 grams of the Class A drug with a street value of around seven million baht.
Ms. Nanthicha was travelling on Air Asia flight FD2517 from Shenzhen City in China. When she arrived in Thailand the customs officer noticed irregularities in her luggage. On further inspection officers found white crystals covered with a sheet of clear plastic packaging wrapped in aluminum foil and a layer of carbon paper.
Mr. Paisan reported that the woman confessed to transporting the drugs and told officers that she had been hired by a Nigerian man and warned other women to be cautious of men from overseas tricking them into trafficking illegal narcotics.
