The driver, Mr Chatchaval Klang, who survived the fatal accident with minor injuries, told police that he took 44 officials of Phatthalung cooperative office to Phu Chee Fah in Chiang Rai for a sight-seeing trip.

While on the way back to Bangkok, he claimed that one of the front tires burst and because the inner lane of the road was under construction, making him unable to control the bus which skidded, flipped and overturned.

Police, however, said they would have to investigate to find out more about the cause of the accident.
