The Samui Times has been given a press release from the Absolute World Group to clarify the situation after repositioning its sales and marketing team from Koh Samui as follows –
Award-winning mixed-use resort developers and fractional and vacation ownership pioneers Absolute World Group, report strong visitor arrivals to Samui for the Group in the first half of 2014, highlighting Samui as a key tourism destination in its Absolute Destinations portfolio of memorable vacation ownership experiences around the globe.
With offices promoting holidays to Samui and Thailand around the world, including in Australia, China, Europe, Hong Kong and Russia, Thailand is at the heart of the Group’s vacation offerings and home to their own collection of self developed and managed boutique resorts.
Over the last four years Absolute World Group has brought over 17,000 holidaymakers to Samui, 6,127 of which visited the Island in 2013 alone. The number of visitors from Australia has seen considerable growth in 2014 with the half-year figures already exceeding the total in 2013, and the number of Chinese visitors already more than double 2013 figures.
By mid-2014, 5,677 Absolute World Group guests have visited Samui this year alone, generating significant revenue for the Island and surrounds, and expectations are to exceed the 2013 arrivals by a significant margin.
“Samui is one of the most popular destinations for our members with thousands visiting each year. The Island offers natural beauty, stunning seascapes and a unique Thai cultural experience, memories our guests treasure. Expectations are that the number of guests we bring to Samui in 2014 will far exceed 2013, and that this growth trend will continue.” said Mr. Bryan Lunt, Chairman and CEO, Absolute World Group.
Approximately 35% of these guests enter one of a variety of vacation and fractional ownership programmers offered by the Absolute World Group, seeing them return to Thailand with their friends and families and become repeat tourists for the Kingdom of Thailand for many years.
Following the recent success of the Group’s Absolute Twin Sands Resort & Spa on Phuket Island, which has seen Phase I and Phase II sell-out and the recently launched Phase III receive a lot of interest from buyers and investors around the world, Absolute World Group have re-positioned its sales and marketing team, moving some from Samui to Phuket, in response to this.
“We employ our resources to best effect and continuously review and revise our sales and marketing efforts. The unprecedented interest in Phase III of Absolute Twins Sands Resort & Spa in Phuket has meant we have strategically re-organised and re-deployed some of our Samui team to Phuket during Samui’s low season,” explained Lunt.
Absolute World Group retain a strong presence on Samui with a professional in-house team who, recognising the need to improve on past sales and marketing techniques, are working on a variety of new local and international marketing activities for the coming High Season, which will drive even greater numbers of holidaymakers to Samui.
