On the 6th of August at 15.00 at the Koh Samui ferry pier police apprehended Ms Bangon Siripak aged 36 years after acting on information from a police informant. Ms Bangon Siripak was travelling with her two year old daughter by air conditioned bus to Samui to deliver the drugs to a customer. A plain clothed police man boarded the bus as a passenger. At the ferry dock police ordered an arrest and the woman’s bag was searched and found to contain a plastic bag with 10 grams of ice (methamphetamine) with a street value of approximately 350,000 baht. The suspect, who works in the textiles industry in Bangkok, later confessed and said she had been paid to deliver the drugs to Koh Samui by one Mr Parin who is known to pay 5,000 baht to curriers willing to deliver drugs to Samui, although Ms Bangon Siripak was unwilling to say what her agreement was with the man on this occasion.
Ms Bangon Siripak was taken to the Koh Samui police station in Nathon where she was officially charged and she will later be prosecuted under Thai law. The relatives of the two year old girl have been contacted and asked to come and take care of the child and police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Parin
