Big C Pattani has opened for service again for the first time since a car bombing incident that took place on May 9.
The Pattani Big C store reopened yesterday after closing for a total of 9 days due to a bomb blast. Only undamaged portions of the store have been put back into service however and its operation times are only between 8AM and 8:30PM. The store is offering a special promotion to attract customers and is also preparing to mark the month of Ramadan.
All customers are being asked to show their identification before entering the store for the sake of security and natural gas fitted vehicles are being searched or cordoned off from the building.
Security measures have been kept up as far away as Yala province, where checkpoints are in operation to inspect vehicles. Authorities are looking out for silver and gold Isuzu pickup trucks that have been linked to the culprits behind the Pattani blast.
Patrols have been stepped up on intelligence indicating insurgents may be targeting Buddhist communities in the south. Any suspicious activity or information can be reported to 1341 or 191.
