Dear animal friends
I’ve just got back from Germany. The stay there was a lot longer than expected. Sadly, my mother has unexpectedly passed away after being ill for a very short time only. I had to take care of my father and the funeral, so I stayed in Berlin for two months. In the middle of September I will fly back to Berlin in order to take care of my father. He’s been doing alright since I’ve left. A good friend of mine will visit him once a week, and helps him with the most important stuff. My father is 88 years and fortunately still very independent. When I finally arrived at home after an absolute nightmare at the airport (twice there was an airport employee with my name plate there, that means always stress), the REAL nightmare just started. The whole street was dark and no light in the house.
This is not unusual, however, because we often experience a power cut. It was not a power failure, but an evil act of sabotage. The electricity company had placed approximately 400 volts free of charge. Normally we have 220 volts. What do you think what happened? Almost everything is mashed. Not one light bulb is still intact in the whole house. All fans, the air conditioner, the monitor from the computer, the printer and a lot of computer parts have given up their minds. The damage is huge and we will probably have to buy everything from our own pocket again. Like that was not already drama enough, we alsoexperienced damage at the shelter due to that storm. Two huge trees fell down – thankfully nobody (dogs nor humans) were injured. This results in even more unexpected costs. Many fences as well as dog houses were damaged or completely destroyed. The dogs need their huts.
PLEASE HELP US WITH A SMALL DONATION, for these unexpected costs, THANK YOU!
