For visitors to Koh Samui no trip is complete without exploring some of the stunning islands the Gulf has to offer both above and below the waterline. Leaving these shores having only explored above ground is tantamount to a crime when so much adventure and exploration is at your fingertips.
For residents of Samui there is no better way to relax from the hustle and bustle of daily island life by getting away from it all and enjoying the peace and tranquility of some of the smaller islands and becoming at one with nature by exploring the wonders of life below the gentle azure waves through a snorkeling mask.
One of the best ways to explore Koh Tao and the stunning car free environment of Koh Nangyan is by taking a snorkelling day trip with Easy Divers Group, who offer top quality diving trips and snorkelling trips for those who wish to discover the aquatic world without going sub aqua.
The Easy Divers Group Day trip to Koh Tao and Koh Nanguan start between 6.30 and 7am when you will be picked up from your resort or hotel and transported by air conditioned mini bus to the Koh Samui Pier in Maenam. Here you will spend an hour enjoying the ocean views, coffee, tea and croissant before boarding the Catamaran. A trip on the modern Catamaran is a great way to cross the gulf. This air conditioned vessel with a tuck shop and outdoor smoking area has toilets, TV entertainment and for a small additional cost an exclusive VIP area. The crossing takes around 90 minutes so you can expect to arrive in Koh Tao at around 9.30 when you will transfer onto the inter-island Talay Nai Boat. This delightful boat will then take you to one of the most popular snorkelling spots such as Mango Bay, Tian Nok Bay, Hin Wong Bay or Siree Beach. Here you can relax and enjoy the beach, take in a spot of snorkeling and marvel at the colorful fish and corals just below the surface of the azure tropical waters.
At noon it is time to sail across to the picture perfect Koh Nangan, a stunning spot where three granite islands are joined by a sand bar. Here you will find no cars, no hustle and bustle only the kind of thing that tropical getaway dreams are made of. As well as enjoying the view you will enjoy a fabulous buffet lunch on the island with colourful dishes cooked from fresh local ingredients. After lunch you can snorkel, relax on the beach or hike up to the view point for some serious Kodak moments and stunning views of Nangan and Koh Tao.
The boats back to Koh Samui leaves from Nanguang at around 2.30 pm and during the crossing you can enjoy cold drinks, snacks and beers from the Catamaran tuck shop. Once back in Samui the air-conditioned mini vans will deliver you safely back to your resort.
