If you have a hearty appetite and appreciate hearty food and great value for money then every Monday Tams café is the place to be.

Tams is a friendly Austrian/German restaurant and guest house that can be found on the Chaweng ring road opposite the world gym. It is certainly not just the island’s German and Austrian community who enjoy Tams, it is frequented by many nationalities who all unite under their love of good home cooking, a warm and friendly atmosphere and a great selection of bottled and draft beer.

SAM_1698The all you can eat buffet on Mondays starts at 6pm. Once you have enjoyed an ice cold draft Weihenstephaner then it’s time to hit the buffet table that is laden with delicious dishes such as Ungarisches Goulasche (Hungarian Goulash), Semmelknodel (dumplings), Rostkartoffeln (Roast Potatoes),Schweinebratn (Roast Pork), Kartoffelsalat mit majonnaise (potato salad), Gurkensalat (Cucumber Salad), assorted sausages, schnitzels, homemade breads, sautéed potatoes with bacon and onions, and a fabulous range of delicious sauces such as tartar sauce, hunter sauce, pepper sauce and zigeuner (gypsy) sauce. There are also some specials to indulge in such as venison ragout with dumplings, rabbit stew with homemade noodles and cold pork slices with cream radish and baked bread.

Tams are also now hosting regular duck evenings where the locals get together and enjoy a feast of stuffed duck served with dumplings along with white and red cabbage. Rabbit is another house specialty so if you feel like hosting your own feast at Tam just call in and speak to Albin or Tam to organize it.

Tams has plenty to offer guests from all around the globe, great food, great value, a friendly atmosphere, great music, table football, free wifi and a pool table.
