Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces Gen Min Aung Hlaing has met with Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha to strengthen bilateral military ties.
Gen Prayut welcomed the Commander-in-Chief at Government House during his official visit to Thailand. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the premier expressed his belief that the Myanmar Armed Forces will develop closer ties with Thailand under the leadership of Gen Min Aung Hlaing, especially in the areas of border security and development.
The Prime Minister cited the readiness of the Thai government to cooperate with Myanmar’s new civilian government. Gen Min Aung Hlaing is the first high-ranking military figure to come to Thailand on an official visit after the new government was installed. Gen Min Aung Hlaing said his government and the Armed Forces are ready to work with Thailand to promote mutual economic prosperity and security.
