Mythos Greek restaurant opens its doors in Maenam

Mythos Greek restaurant is a quaint little place located on the main road just before the petrol station in Maenam. I went to check out their opening night on Saturday 31st august.

As you walk into the restaurant you start to realise there’s more to it than just the inside, walk on through and you suddenly enter the secret garden, it takes you a world away from the hustle and bustle of the busy road out the front. With the romantic candle lit tables and the wonderful sala tent it did make for a nice setting.

f1 opening 6It was a busy event with over 60 people arriving almost at once, Christos, Oi ,Robert and all the staff coped amazingly as they suffered power cuts and then the rain, the staff were friendly and worked really hard keeping the atmosphere and the vibe going with all the setbacks they encountered at the start of the evening.

As it was an all you can eat buffet the queue for the food was long at times but no one seemed to mind waiting as the food that was being constantly served was well worth waiting for. They had Zuchinni cake, pitta breads, mousakka, souvaliki, spinach pie, lamb soutzoukia my favourite the feta cheese spring rolls, yoghurt kebabs with a selection of different meats and Greek salad. They also had a few Polish dishes on the menu too, Polish bigos – like a salami style soup and pickled fish which was surprisingly very nice.

Mr Mousakka aka DJ Dean Lambert supplied the entertainment even with his equipment that had been caught out with the sudden down pour and it was a great atmosphere all round, well worth a visit to try the other dishes and experience their full menu.

Everyone I spoke to, they all said the same, they really enjoyed the food and even though it rained it didn’t dampen anybody’s sprits.
