National police chief urges restoration of reputation of law enforcement dept

The National police chief has urged all law enforcement officers to help restore the reputation of the Thai police force.

Pol. Gen. Chakthip Chaijinda, the national police chief, recently discussed the policies of the Royal Thai Police with his deputies and police commanders from across the country.

Pol. Gen. Chakthip said that he stressed with all 485 law enforcement officers the importance of the restoration of the good image and reputation of Thai police.

He said that police stations, where officers work most closely with the public, must make sure all services are efficiently provided and executed, as the chief of any unit which fails to deliver a good performance and faces any complaints, will be subject to punishment.

Regarding the expected election in 2019, the national police chief has instructed all units to study relevant laws so that they are able to perform their duties effectively while asserting that the public shouldn’t be worried about any officer’s prejudiced actions as such behavior will certainly be punished as well.
