A new sports bar/restaurant opens its doors in Bophut

A new sports bar has opened its doors in Bophut and has brought a whole new experience to the village. Located on the ring road close to the PTT gas station. The Boar’s Pub has created the perfect combination of the best that British and Irish Pubs have to offer. The Bar has six big flat screen TV’s on which multiple sporting events can be played making it the ideal venue to watch all of your favorite football teams wage battle in boar pub 2the Premier League as well as tennis, rugby, AFL and any other sports that take your fancy. As well as the TV’s there is a full DJ station from where the tunes will flow for both public events and the private hire parties that this bar is perfect for. The décor provides both an English and Irish ambiance with English style wallpaper and Irish pub style wooden paneling and shelves. The front door and London style street lamp in the hallway to the exceptionally clean toilets have insets of incredible stained glass from wear mesmerizing rays of light dance together on the wall and the ceiling. Here you will find draught Guinness, Mangers Cider, Grolsch and Singha as well as a fine selection of European and local bottled beers. If you prefer cocktails to beer then you have come to the right place, experienced bar man Zoli is ready to mix up your favorite tipple with his homemade syrups and even homemade cranberry juice and boy does he know how to mix! As well as a great beers and cocktail menu you can savor some very special single malt whiskeys!

The restaurant section of the bar has very homely décor and provides a wonderful family atmosphere for dining. Like the bar area, the restaurant benefits from air conditioning and ample seating. The menu has something for everybody and although the permanent menu has not yet hit the tables it’s hard to imagine that you would not find something to take your fancy no matter how big your budget or your appetite. If you fancy something light or a bite to enjoy at the bar while you are enjoying great conversation or your sports game on TV then you can chose boar pub 3from Calamari rings, Shrimps in Tempura batter, Mussels cooked in a spicy sauce, buffalo wings, cheese balls with basil or house special Grand nuggets. If you are feeling rather more peckish or want something to share then the Fish set, Meat selection, Vegetable Set or Homemade pickle set are great choices. If you fancy a fresh salad you can choose between Greek, Potato Ultimate, Royal Bavaria or Duck breast special salads. If you fancy a hearty soup then you are faced with a choice of Barilla, Broccoli cream of cold(perfect for hangover). The main course menu includes Fajitas, Eisbein, Fish and Chips, Pork chop with a cheese hat, Traditional Irish boxty covered with cream, Pork with vegetables and Salmon covered with crispy cheese and of course there is always Lamb rack, Pork ribs, Pork cutlet on the bone, Ribeye steak, Roasted shrimps and Filet mignon sizzling on the grill. Ham and cheese and Duck breast sandwiches as well as Boars double burger and a classic burger also shout “eat me” from the menu.

The Boar’s offers a very friendly atmosphere, pleasant and very clean surroundings, a reasonably priced drinks and food menu and exceptionally clean toilets. It is easy to see that a lot of planning has gone into the décor of this new bar, both the bar and the menu have been created with love and passion and with street parking being so easy it is not hard to imagine that Bophut’s new venture will enjoy the success it deserves, even if none of the owners or staff are either English or Irish!
