On World Water Day 2015, Mr Ingo Domaschke, General Manager of OZO Chaweng Samui (behind the sign, second from the left), together with executives and team members, successfully constructed the first check dam in 2015 at Kao Pom, Koh Samui. This is a part of OZO’s CSR project, OZO for H²O by OZO Chaweng Samui, which focuses on the environment, particularly on water, to help conserve Samui’s natural water resource from rainfall through the construction and maintenance of check dams. The dams aim to help regulate water flow, increase the level of underground water and reduce soil erosion for the benefit of the local communities.
OZO for H²O by OZO Chaweng Samui is the brand’s first CSR programme in partnership with Amari Koh Samui, Koh Samui Watershed Management and Green Island Foundation Thailand (GIFT), aided by logistic support from World Travel Service and Funny Safari Tour. OZO Chaweng Samui is committed to supporting the campaign through fundraising and volunteer work in the construction of the check dams.
The goal of OZO for H²O by OZO Chaweng Samui in 2015 is to raise THB 15,000 to help finance the construction of three check dams in Kao Pom, Samui’s highest hill within the tropical rainforest.
