Pattaya police promise action against Thai lady boys, Thai media

Thai TV said that Pattaya police were promising to take action to stop lady boys from attacking tourists.

The move follows the latest attack on a tourist by a group of broom wielding men in high heels and short skirts.

TNA said that police would target those who prey on tourists and cause trouble in Pattaya’s famed Walking Street entertainment area.

The latest blow to the image of Pattaya as a tourist friendly, family oriented resort came as several lady boys headed by Laotian national Mr Vithoune Latdy, 29, attacked Mr Mohammad Masih Makhmali, 35, from Iran.

TNA said heavily tattooed Mr Makhmali had been innocently buying sweets in the early hours of the morning when he was approached by Vithoune.

But the Iranian was not interested in sex – he just wanted something sweet to put in his mouth.

A running street battle ensued in which a broom was used as a weapon. Both principals in the fight were hurt with the tourist having a head wound.

One poster on social media among thousands who shared the video said: “Rule #1 When in a foreign country show respect and stay out of the way. This dude got his head cracked wide open”.

Pattaya police listened to the evidence before fining both men 500 baht.
