INN reported on a road accident in Mae Sot, Tak in Thailand north west when an Australian doctor helped give first aid to a motorcycle rider injured in a collision.

The Australian was named as Michael John Kewlie (name transliterated from Thai) who is working with Myanmar people in Thailand.

The accident involved a Honda CBR motorcycle and an Isuzu pick-up – both with Bangkok plates – outside a hotel on Chitwana Road.

Worawit Wora was not wearing a helmet and was seriously injured.

The driver of the pick-up, Prasert Butwong, 57, was doing a u-turn when the accident occurred.
