The prosecutor’s office working on Koh Tao murder case revealed that the police had fully handed the case’s file to them, and that they would carefully discuss it in a meeting. The prosecutor expected the brief to be filed to the court by next week.
On November 28, Mr. Paiboon Aechavanankhun, acting Chief of Samui Attorney Office, revealed that they had received all the case’s file from the inquiry official who was investigating the Koh Tao murder case. The prosecutor’s office will bring the file to a meeting to confer which they expect it to be ready to be filed to the court by next week.
Mr. Paiboon also stated that this case is very important since it has received a lot of attention from both Thais and foreigners, and also because it’s a tragic incident that happened to tourists. It’s necessary for the prosecutors to carefully gather the evident since the two suspects, Win and Zaw, denied the charges, and it’s also important that the prosecutor must be able to answer questions from the people.
“The entire case’s file has already been checked and looked into. From now on, the prosecutors will bring the file to the prosecutor’s office’s meeting, and it is expected to be ready for filing by this week. The prosecutors’ main focus is forensic results,” said Mr. Paiboon.
It is expected that the trial will take place by the end of next week.
