Reward offered for box of knives used to dismember Spanish man

Police in Bangkok have offered a 5,000 baht reward for a shoe box filled with knives that they believe were used to dismember the body of Spansih man David Bernat. Another Spaniard, Artur Segarra is believed to have committed the murder, and was the subject of a manhunt before being apprehended on Sunday in Cambodia. It is believed the motive for the abduction and murder was the theft of 37 million baht.

Although police are confident they have enough evidence to convict the man they have issued a public plea to help find a shoe box containing four or five knives disposed of by Segarra, 36, after he killed and dismembered his fellow countryman. Based in their investigation and information received from Segarra’s girlfriend, it is believed the box of knives was left next to a bin at around 12-30pm on Feb 1st near the bridge over Khlong Lor Lae between Soi 156 and 158 Ramkhamhaeng. Anybody with any information leading to the discovery of that box will receive 5,000 baht.
