There is plenty to like about the Secret Garden in Bangrak where you can eat, sleep, drink and relax and of course enjoy great entertainment on Sunday Nights. Rick Van-dervoort and John Vermuelen have created a magical environment at the Secret Garden that enjoys a wonderful beachfront location with spectacular ocean views.
The beach of course it the perfect place for relaxing, cooling off, having a swim and the perfect place to enjoy a fruit juice, cold beer, cocktail or glass of perfectly chilled wine. When you tire of the beach, there is a large bar area where you can mingle and chat with friends while still enjoying the ocean views.
The restaurant has covered and beach front dining options and the menu at Riks at Secret Garden has something for everybody with Thai and Western dishes. The Mediterranean platters make an excellent choice for lunch, there is a breakfast menu that is very reasonably priced, a fantastic selection of sandwiches, baguettes and Panini and salads, starters such as homemade liver pate, Albondiga’s and mussels, main courses such as Grandmothers meatballs, chicken schnitzel, pork medallions and chicken live a la Riks and desserts such as Grandmothers Apple Pie and Profiteroles. If you are a lamb lover then the lamb chops or lamb stew are a must. Happy hour is every day from 4-7 and all drinks are discounted.
The Secret Garden has just had a front end face lit and now has a reception, lounge shop area on the Bangrak road and has off road parking for mini buses as well as cars. There are also some new large orange flags flying outside the resort so you really can’t miss it.
Riks is a firm favorite among visitors and residents of the island and it is really not hard to see why. The location is perfect, your hosts are warm and friendly, the staff are attentive, the accommodation is wonderful, the layout is pleasing the menu is affordable and there is an exciting line up of entertainment. When it comes to a down side, there is really nothing not to like!
