SOS – Nathon Hospital – Project Stage 2 Completion

This week Sisters on Samui are proud to announce the COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT STAGE 2.

With the delivery and handover this week to the Hospital Director and Staff of the newly completed Courtyard Roof and Upgrade to the Nurses Station, Stage 2 is completed.

Yvonne, Juliette and the whole team and support group from Sisters on Samui would like to express their sincerest thanks to Carl, Gaetan and the entire team/s at Kalara International Properties and Chi Samui for hosting the spectacular Gala fundraiser as well as all of their participating sponsors and the extremely lively crowd who attended which has enabled us to complete our approved Stage 2 program at the Childrens and Maternity Wards at the Nathon Public Hospital.

The results so far are agreed by all as way beyond expectations.

Prior to this new endeavor to date “Sisters” have raised — and spent over 2.4 Million THB.

With the 363,000 THB raised at the CHI function, this Stage 2 Total is 603,750 THB bringing the overall Total raised and spent to 2,827,964 THB!!

Stage 9 and 10 (of 14 parts in total as approved by the Hospital Director) being the new roof over the now central courtyard and full refurbishment of the Nurses Station and facilities is completed to International Standards.

For the Courtyard Roof covering the entire space between the Children’s and Maternity Wards, SOS commissioned Samui Steel Constructions and Andrew Shepherd (Andrew – Shep has agreed to build a pond with water plants and fish for this area as his donation) to design and construct a painted Galvanised Steel frame roof with UV polycarbonate cover and fitted with 4 X Stainless Steel heat extracting fans – the result is amazing.

This area will provide a new clean and dry space for visiting parents and families to catch up with their children/ siblings and mothers.

Khun Khanchai and his team at Furniture by Cera who have already assisted in the early stages (including donating some cabinetry) have excelled in the Nurses Station by providing International standard floor to ceiling cabinetry, stone tops for hygiene and inclusive of new stainless sinks with hotwater for the first time ever! They have also donated a new wall mounted drug preparation cabinet and bench plus a cabinet for the Head Nurses office.

This area will provide a new clean and dry space for visiting parents and families to catch up with their children/ siblings and mothers.

Sisters on Samui would also like to quickly like to thank firstly all of those who contributed or donated to enable completion of the first 9 stages and then our individual thanks to these Hotels, GMs and employees who greatly assisted with the manpower and skills to fully refurbish each of the existing wards.
