As floods continue to wreak havoc to many southern provinces and more rains are forecasted this weekend, all south-bound trains from Bangkok to the deep south could now run only to Chumphon from earlier ending at Surat Thani station.
The number of trains will also be cut to five trains, all ending at Chumphon station instead.
The five trains to be on service are Express Train 43 on Bangkok-Surat Thani route, Rapid Train 171 on Bangkok-Sungai Kolok route, Rapid Train 173 on Bangkok-Nakhon Si Thammarat route, Express Train 85 on Bangkok-Nakhon Si Thammarat route, and Special Express Train 39 on Bangkok-Surat Thani route.
Passengers who have already booked seats on these trains could refund their tickets at full prices.
The SRT said all these five trains will end at Chumphon station, and it will not provide bus services for train passengers to further destinations as highways and roads to the destinations are still submerged.
It asked passengers to call 1690 for more information on the train services.
