It is hard to imagine a more idyllic location to wile away a few hours enjoying a lavish Brunch on Sunday than at the award winning Centara Grand Beach Resort. Sunday Brunch at Centara is served at ‘Coast’ Beach Bar & Grill beach club, the latest addition to a resort that is already bursting at the seams with inviting dining opportunities. At 11am the doors open to the pristine ocean front terrace, the grill is fired up for Sumac Lamb Cutlets, Mini Steaks, Marinated Pork Neck, Duka Marinated Chicken and a selection of skewers and a choice of Bernaise, Apple, Mint, Jack Daniels Bacon and Red Wine sauce. At the same time imported seafood including Alaskan King Crab and New Zealand Large Mussels and local Tiger Prawns are put on ice along with Gazpacho all to be enjoyed with sauces such as Tabasco, Jalapeno Aioli, BBQ Sauce, Tartar Sauce, Thousand Island Sauce, Thai Seafood Sauce, spicy E-San Sauce, Bell Pepper and Remoulade Sauce as well as delights from the Kettle Bloody Mary Station & French Oyster.
The salad selection is most impressive and of course created from only the very freshest of ingredients, of course being a buffet allows you the luxury of not having to choose options, but affords the luxury of being able to indulge in the entire spread of fresh prawns, chicken, ham, bacon, egg, anchovy’s, croutons, rocket and mixed salad leaves, grilled red and green bell peppers, ricotta cheese, mini bell peppers stuffed with cheese, cherry tomatoes, artichokes, grilled pumpkin, zucchini, nuts, feta cheese, mixed olives, pickled onions, capers, mini pickles and a selection of dressings, oils and balsamic.
Along the other side of the terrace the doors to heaven open to reveal freshly baked breads such as soda loafs, Bavarian bread, multi wheat loafs, large French baguettes, Grissini sticks, mini ciabatta, foccacia and Italian hard rolls, an incredible selection of imported cheese & mouth watering cured hams and meats to be taken with condiments such as caper berries, artichokes, grilled bell peppers, pickles, mustards, honey, dried figs and apricots. In the same room sweet lovers will be faced with an irresistible selection of profiteroles, mille fuille with berries, individual Pavlov’s with kiwi, passion fruit & yoghurt cream, Moet jelly & fruit, fruit skewers, brandy snap rolls, chocolate mousse in a glass, chocolate gateaux, chocolate pudding, Spanish Churros, fruit tarts, ice cream & sorbets, individual cheese cakes and delectable white and milk chocolate pops.
Back at the carving station you will find house made gravlax (Dill & Beetroot) served with mustard, remulard sauce, caper berries, cornichors, tosted bread and beetroot chutney. The wood fired ‘pizza oven produces an incredible selection of freshly baked pizza, calzone and pizza twist.
While you indulge your senses in this incredible plethora of delectable delicacies the attentive staff walk around with offerings such as Foie Gras on brioche and tomato chutney, grilled fresh Spanish sardines on couscous, bruschetta selection / tomato basil shaved parmesan / thyme mushroom/ goat cheese beets (v) slider selection/ beef/ chicken/ soft shell crab/ pulled pork (gourmet), pan seared fish filled topped with fresh green papaya salad, E- San grilled sausages/ Chiang Mai grilled sausages served with Esan sauce, risotto selection (v) Lamb taco’s with tzaziki, watermelon with Manchego cheese & balsamic (v), mozzarella cheese & tomato skewers with pesto (v), falafel on tzatiki (v) and scallops on avocado puree, irresistible does not even come close to describing each and every item on the menu.
Of course the presentation of the buffet is second to none, the visual appeal of both the cuisine and the setting is picture perfect so it is imperative that you take along your camera.
As well as the waves lapping into the pristine white sands the sounds of the resident DJ Dean Lambert complete the heavenly scene and tranquil, almost addictive atmosphere that you will find yourself rooted too long after you have satisfied your appetite.
In terms of value, there is little to rival this, the most lavish brunch served on our sunny shores. The Gold Brunch option offers free flow selected beverages to enjoy along with the feast for just 1,777 baht ++ per adult. The Platinum Brunch offers free flow selected beverages, wine, beer, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks for only 2,777 ++ per adult and the Diamond Brunch includes free flow wine, beer, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks as well as a bottle of Veuve Clicquot 37.5 cl for only 3,777 ++ per adult.
