Swiss man commits suicide by lacerating his neck, wrists and stomach in Pattaya

In Pattaya on Sunday night a 69 year old Swiss man was taken to the Banglamuang Hospital by his wife after he found himself struggling to breath due to what was thought to be an ongoing heart condition.

On examination at the hospital the man was diagnosed with pulmonary edema and pneumonia. He was admitted for further treatment. However at 9am on Monday he reportedly discharged himself against the advice of his doctors who informed the man that if left untreated his condition could lead to his death. He then reportedly told his wife that he did not wish to die in the hospital and left.

The police and rescue arrived on the scene in the Pong area and found the man covered in blood with deep lacerations to his wrists, neck and stomach. They also found a blood stained knife next to the body and a suicide note written in English on the dining room table.

The victim’s 35 year old wife told the police that she had been married to the deceased for six years and had a five year old child together.
