Tap water services to parts of Bangkok to be suspended

The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) has announced the suspension of tap water services to three areas of Bangkok while residents are urged to reserve water for use.

The MWA is currently in the process of installing an extra water tank at Petchkasem Pumping Station in a bid to raise the facility’s distribution capacity during the dry season. Therefore, due to the procedure, water supply to Phasi Charoen district, Taksin and Suk Sawat Roads as well as parts of Bangkok Noi district will be suspended from 9 pm of March 22 to 12 pm of March 23.

In preparation for the suspension, people living in the affected areas are advised to store water for use during the period so as to be able to carry on with their daily life. In the meantime, the MWA will be sending out water trucks to offer water supplies to residents in need.
