TAT to boost domestic travels with four-hour flash sale during Songkran festival

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) governor Yutthasak Suphasorn disclosed that TAT has cooperated with the Thai Hotels Association (THA), the Association of Domestic Thailand (ADT), the Thai Ecotourism and Adventure Travel Association (TEATA) and the Thai Tourism Promotion Association (TTPA) in organizing a four-hour flash sale to help boost domestic travels during Songkran festival.

The TAT governor said that the special event aims to encourage more Thais to travel inside the country during Songkran festival or the Thai New Year. That also responds to the government’s policy to promote domestic travels and stimulate more spendings to boost up local economy.

The four-hour flash sale will include special deals and steep discounts on accommodation packages, theme park tickets and other travel-related services from more than 30 travel-related product and service providers.

The special privileges are to stimulate the Thais to travel within the country during the Thai New Year holiday, which will last for at least five days from Wednesday, April 13 to Sunday, April 17. For those who take extra days off, from Saturday, April 9, their holiday would cover nearly 10 days.

Apart from receiving steep discounts instantly from leading travel service providers during the flash sale, a double bonus will be offered to the Thais who travel within the country during April 9-17, 2016. Receipts of domestic spendings during that period can be used for 2016 tax redemptions.

The special four-hour flash sale will be held on April 5, 2016, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Quartier Park, in front of EmQuartier, which can be reached by BTS SkyTrain (Prompong station, Exit 1). The sale is open to all customers, including expatriates and foreigners.
