According to transport officer Warawuth Ma-in at least ten passengers of a double-decker bus that left Bangkok at 6pm and arrived in Krabi in the early morning were injured when the bus skidded off the road in the Plaipraya district of Krabi.
The bus that was carrying thirty two passengers crashed into a roadside ditch as the driver was driving to drop passengers in Surat Thani. It is believed the crash happened when a passenger shouted to the driver to alert him to the fact that he had taken a wrong road. The driver made a U-turn on the curve but lost control.
The officer said that the driver Kampol Talangwit, 49, was not acquainted with the road and was driving in high speed, thus causing the accident which left two of the passengers in a serious condition. He said the bus normally runs on the Bangkok-Pak Panang route and did not know why he happened to drive into the Krabi route
