The Thai Smile flight TG 2335 was forced to abort a flight to Hat Yai just before take off yesterday when a passenger suddenly jumped out of his seat after taking off his safety belt and threatened to jump out of the plane.
The incident occurred while the flight was still on the runway with 96 passengers onboard. As the plane started to taxi on the runway 22 year old Surin Langso, a Satun province resident, suddenly went ballistic. His outburst scared other passengers so the pilot took the decision to taxi back to the airport. The remaining passengers were evacuated from the departure terminal along with their luggage and were then transferred to another TG 2261 flight that departed at 3.20pm.
The man causing the commotion was detained by airport security and police who believe he may have some kind of mental disorder. THAI acting president Chokchai Panyayong apologised to passengers for the inconvenience caused by the evacuation and reloading of their luggage to another flight but confirmed the man has passed through normal security check as a passenger with proper ticket.
