The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned Thai workers in Taiwan to brace for Super Typhoon Maria which is moving to Taiwan.
Thailand’s Trade and Economic Office in Taiwan reported to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about Typhoon Maria that it has developed into a super typhoon along the way, with its wind-speed reaching 180 kilometers per hour.
The office has also warned Thai communities in Taiwan to closely follow the situation and to comply with all instructions from Taiwanese authorities and their employers for their own safety.
Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau may issue a marine disaster warning on the night of July 9th, 2018, and may issue a land disaster warning before midday on July 10th. It is expected the typhoon will hit Taiwan the hardest on July 10th to 12th July, with areas in the northern region expected to be most affected.
The typhoon may make landfall and affect the entire area of Taiwan Island.
Persons travelling to Taiwan between July 9th and 13th should also follow the situation closely as extreme weather may cause flight disruptions or cancellations.
