The PanyaDee School Koh Samui

The PanyaDee School in Koh Samui offers pre-school, primary and secondary education for both the Thai and international community. The school an approved University of Cambridge International Centre and follows the Cambridge International Curriculum.

The name PanyaDee is derived from the combination of the Thai words good and wisdom. The school opened in 2005 and has evolved from a single classroom for eight students into a fabulous facility that comprises of fifteen classrooms, a dedicated science room, a fully equipped music room, a library, a networked computer room and three separate playground areas for different age groups. The children of the school also benefit from a five-a-side football pitch, a basketball court, a covered canteen area with a fully operational kitchen where daily school meals are prepared.

The School operates as a non-denominational school with English as the primary language. Although all of the lead teachers at the school have English as their first language the importance of the Thai language and culture is certainly not overlooked. Thai lessons are compulsory for all students and are conducted by teachers whose primary language is Thai.

The PanyDee School develops the moral, physical, social, intellectual, aesthetic and emotional potential of its students and encourages them to foster their allegiance to cultural heritage as well as promoting respect and tolerance between students and teachers of all cultures.
The core subjects that are taught at the school are English Language, Mathematics and Science. Each child has one Thai lesson a day as well enjoying music lessons, Social Science, Art, ICT, Physical Education and Personal, Social and Health Education.

The pupils at PanyaDee come from all nationalities and backgrounds and create a wonderful multi-cultural environment conducive to learning.
