Thailand is now prepared to host the World Tourism Day event, echoing the nation’s support towards equal access to tourism, while the cultural richness of Thailand’s northeastern region will be presented to the participants at the event, says the Tourism Minister.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul stated in a press conference regarding the organization of World Tourism Day 2016 under the theme Tourism for All – Promoting Universal Accessibility, that Thailand is fully prepared to encourage universal access to tourism for all people. The Kingdom will take this opportunity as a host nation to promote the country’s tourism capability and the beauty in its Northeastern region to the world.
The Cabinet agreed that Thailand will be hosting the World Tourism Day 2016 in Bangkok and Khon Kaen on 26-29 September 2016 as assigned by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha will be presiding over the opening ceremony in Bangkok, as well as giving a special speech on “Tourism for All: Thailand’s role in the global stage”, followed by leading delegates from 157 countries on a visit to the Northeastern province of Khon Kaen during 28-29 September 2016.
