Udon Thani sends aid to flood-hit Sakon Nakhon

Udon Thani province has launched an activity aimed at bringing relief to flood-hit residents and cattle in Sakon Nakhon.

Governor Chayawut Chanthorn has dispatched a truck caravan carrying seven tons of fodder to Sakon Nakhon. Udon Thani is also running a campaign urging members of the general public to donate money and consumption items for people in flood-torn Sakon Nakhon at Udon Thani City Hall.

Relevant agencies previously sent animal feed to southern provinces and Nong Bua Lamphu. Udon Thani’ s local livestock offices have prepared 120 tons of fodder for agriculturists in need of cattle feed.

Storm Sonca, which has weakened to a depression, has flooded seven districts in Udon Thani. Governor Chayawut said the situation would soon improve if there was no more rainfall during this period. Residents are advised to remain on high alert and heed disaster relief workers’ instructions.
