His body was naked, mutilated and his neck was broken.

suspects in biker murderA 21 year old American man who initially admitted to be part of the abduction after his arrest has now admitted to his involvement in the murder. The man has been identified as Tyler Gerard. He was apprehended as he was trying to cross the border into Cambodia. After his confession he led police to a reservoir where Mr. Schneider’s clothes and other possessions were located.

In Phnom Penh, Anthony Bagnato, the Australian man wanted in connection with the murder and the suspected leader of the gang was arrested today. The capture of Bagnato, 28, came after Thai police issued a warrant for his arrest and followed the arrest of his Thai wife on Wednesday after it was revealed she hired the pickup truck used to abduct Mr Schneider, she denies any involvement in the crime.

Reports in the Australian press suggest that Mr Schneider was ‘cashed up’ at the time of his abduction after recently returning to Thailand with the proceeds of a large drug trafficking operation in Europe. They also say that his new bank balance was well known in the biker community and it was not the first time he had been attacked.

Schneider was a convicted drug trafficker who had also been charged with obstructing the Australian Crime Commission when he failed to give evidence during a coercive hearing. He also spent 18 months on Australia’s ‘most wanted’ list.
