On Thursday 12th of September the Women’s Business Network met at the stunning New Star Beach Resort in Chaweng Noi, who, along with GM Mike, put on a fabulous display of canapés including Larb rolls, chicken balls on lemon grass skewers, Thai beef, olive and mozzarella sticks, sushi, spring rolls, chicken wraps as well as panacotta and chocolate mousse desserts.
Sadly as the 6pm start time approached a rotten storm ripped through Koh Samui preventing a lot of ladies from turning up. However, a handful did and it was more than worth the effort as a great time was had by all.
Ning, showed off some of the fabulous goodies available in her store Blue Vanilla Souvenirs and Café and as well as the wonderful gifts and personalized packaging she offers for hotels who want to treat their guests on arrival, departure or when turning their beds down. Ning showed and allowed the ladies to taste some traditional Thai candies and biscuits that everybody agreed were delicious.
Catherine Cornish spoke about the need to create an effective blood donation scheme on Koh Samui and cleared up some of the misconceptions about donating blood, we will be covering more on that story at a later date, so watch this space.
Maureen Scord came along to show her support with Winnie who has a busy restaurant in Choeng Mon called the Orchid as well as an equally busy car wash in the same area.
Lorraine Clark, as usual played the perfect hostess and told the ladies a little about her Can Cook Connection, her organization that aims to get children into work in the hospitality industry that might not ordinarily be able to find the opportunity to enjoy the sort of apprenticeship opportunities she is planning on organizing with many hotels and resorts on the island who are already offering their support.
The ladies ended the night with a cocktail and some delicious blueberry cheese cake brought along by Ning.
