11 beautiful elephants march in homage to His Majesty

A parade of 11 elephants with beautiful tusks was held on Tuesday morning in Bangkok to honour His Majesty the King.
The “Kachasarn Khu Phaendin Terdthai Ong Rachan” (elephants of the land pay respect to His Majesty the King) march of beautifully decorated elephants was also joined by elephant handlers and staff of the Ayutthaya Elephant Palace and Royal Kraal Foundation.

The handlers wore elaborate costumes as they moved from Territorial Defence Command through Sanam Chai Road and stopped in front of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, where they made a simultaneous left turn to stop in front of the royal portrait of His Majesty the King.
The elephants and the marchers then kneeled down and paid their respects to the royal portrait for 19 seconds, while representatives placed flowers in front of the portrait. The procession then returned to the Territorial Defence Command, after which they travelled back to Ayutthaya.
