110,000 Methamphetamine pills found in a forest

A 50 year old mushroom picker was scavenging in Tak forest when she came across two plastic jerry cans that had been partially buried near to a tree. The woman’s first thoughts were that the containers may contain explosives so she called the police. On further investigation police officers from the Wang Pra Chop police station discovered they were full of methamphetamine pills. The police believe the pills had been stashed in the forest to avoid being detected by one of the recent road checkpoints. The containers that were concealed could have been exposed due to recent heavy rainfall. The street value of the narcotics is estimated at more than one million baht.
