2 men caught on camera snatching a bag in Samui arrested in Phuket

After a recent bag snatching in a restaurant in Lamai the owner of the Srinuan Thai Food posted the security footage from her CCTV camera on Facebook in an attempt to try to track down the criminals who took the bag. The video clip was widely shared among the Samui community.
After a tip off from Samui, Kathu police in Phuket managed to track the two men down in Loma Park. After Mourad Hadj-Benreeig, 32, and Abdelkadir Habal, 28, from Algeria were arrested they admitted to the police that they were the men in the video and owned up to taking a diners bag in the restaurant. Both of the men were also found to be overstaying their visas.
