A second year of happy players with an even higher level of play from Thailand, Europe, North America, Australia and Asia teams at the Samui Open Beach Volleyball Tournament, assuring those involved and interested of a 3rd annual beach volleyball fun and exciting event.
“With the big success of our 2nd event, the 3rd annual open beach volleyball tournament is in the works for the weekend of 23/24 February 2019”, said organiser Cord Biggs of the Koh Samui Beach Volleyball Club.
A long-time resident of Koh Samui and avid player, Biggs founded the non-profit group and the daily open play at Beach Bar Samui on Chaweng Noi beach. “Amazing participation for their stunning Championship Victory for 1st place went to ‘Beer’ and ‘Ton’, the Thai team from the Phuket Beach Club. The win followed dramatic games and nail-biting competition with runner-up team players, Brian Chapman and David McKienzie of California, USA”, added Biggs.
22 amateur and professional players starred in the 2X2 Double Elimination Tournament guaranteeing a minimum 3 matches per team at the non-profit tournament. The organiser said the tournament is made possible by the event’s host, The Beach Bar in Chaweng Noi and the generous Event Sponsors, including: AIS, Trend Fashion, Home Mart, SuperPro Samui, Surat Baan Suay, SW Law Group, Chaweng Noi Resort, Vikasa Spa, Fathaweeporn, Scandic Grill and Bar, K-Club, High Park Samui and Federico’s.
