5 year old boy trapped in a house with his dead British father for seven days

On Saturday Nongprue police and medics were called to a house in East Pattaya after neighbours discovered that the British owner of the house was dead inside along with his five year old son who is thought to have been trapped inside with the corpse for at least seven days.
The police were contacted after the neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from the property and heard the cries of a young boy who later turned out to be the five year old son of the diseased. When police entered the building they found the body of Mr. Robert Sorensen, 36, lying dead on the bedroom floor. It is thought that the man was a former teacher who had recently been working off-shore.
The boy was taken into care by Welfare Officers, due to his age he was unable to understand what had happened to his fathers. The mother of the boy, who is Thai is currently being located. The British Embassy are offering consular assistance to the child.
