The reputation of the Four Seasons resort and hotel group is renowned worldwide for excellence and their establishment on Koh Samui is no exception with expectations more often than not largely surpassed.

The real sign of of top quality in the tourism industry is in anticipating the guests requirements and the staff here do it so effortlessly that the whole experience takes place around you quite naturally.

driftwood teaThe location of this fabulously designed resort complex commands one of the best views on the island, being high up on a verdent jungle hilltop with terraced gardens leading to the luxuriously appointed villas overlooking the powdered sandy beach and turqoise ocean beyond. This really is a breathtaking haven of serenity and architecturally magnificent surroundings which flow so cleverly from the impressive reception area onwards.

In understanding the decidely uncertain current financial situation the General Manager, Jeff Rednour is working hard to make this resort appeal to much a wider audience by introducing affordable options to all potential guests.

The Four Seasons resort invites you to enhance the afternoon hours with a unique new Afternoon Tea inspired by the scenery of Koh Samui. The talented pastry chef and his team capture the essence of this coconut paradise and translate it into a magnificent selection of savoury and sweet selections presented on hand-crafted driftwood. The coconut ice cream wrapped in crispy rice and served on ice in a carved coconut shell is the perfect start and immediately sets the scene for what is to come.

Local flavours are at the forefront and have been added sympathetically to the menu. ‘Larb Gai Tod’ for instance is a delicious blend of grilled minced chicken, fresh Thai herbs, chilli and cracked rice. The mascarpone eclair incorporates locally grown Pandan and is simply divine. Freshly made gourmet sandwiches, warm scones and exqisite pastries enhance the ensemble. Other delicious selections include: smoked salmon bagel with fluffy cream cheese, fresh rice paper roll with succulent prawns, crispy fried vegetable spring rolls, both traditional and mango filled melt in your mouth scones, light as air lime filled macaroons and just for fun chocolate lollipops.

All this accompanied by your choice from a large selection of specially chosen loose leaf teas or a vast array of coffees from around the world whilst appreciating the quite spectacular views from the comfort of either the well situated deck area or the delightfully decorated airy interior.

This Afternoon Tea experience is served in the Koh Thai Kitchen & Bar area of the resort, daily, from 12:00pm until 5:00pm and is definitely not to be missed by gourmands and tea lovers alike.
