Airport scan spots ‘ice’ shipment inside Israel-bound squid

Dried squid ready to be shipped to Israel in two Air Express packages were found to contain 110 grams of crystal methamphetamine (“ice”) on Wednesday night.
A source at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport police station said Customs agents and Thailand Post officials showed police the drugs hidden inside the squid in 32 small plastic packets.
Thailand Post said routine X-ray screening revealed suspicious contents within the boxes, which had originated in Udon Thani. Custom officers were summoned to open and inspect the contents.
Police suspect a transnational drug ring could be involved, and authorities will be watching for a larger shipment similarly concealed.
