Police from three separate areas announced the arrest of a suspected American fraudster in Koh Samui yesterday. 

AMERICAN ARRESTED IN SAMUI OVER INVOLVEMENT IN

John Alber Loar Barks Dele, 38, was picked up at a house in Bo Phut on a warrant issued in Pathum Wan (Bangkok) on July 8th. 

Daily News said he admitted fraud in connection with a scheme to buy Ormeus Coin in the sum of 99,999 US dollars amounting to just under 3 million baht.

Many people were defrauded in the scheme.

He was taken to Lumpini police station in the capital. 

The arrest was a joint operation comprising the Lumpini and Bo Phut forces and Surat Thai Immigration.

Ormeus Coin is a new digital money system backed by an industrial crypto-mining operation, according to their website, notes Thaivisa.
