American pimp arrested in northern Thailand was running Burmese sex ring on Facebook

A 66 year old American man has been arrested in Chiang Rai after a sting operation found he was helping to run a human trafficking operation offering Burmese girls for sex.
Kenneth Albertson had put advertisements on Facebook and Craigslist. One of the sites was “Burmese Border Chicks For Hire”.
Department of Special Investigation and Crime Suppression Division acting on a tip off conducted a sting.
“Ken” was met at Mae Fa Luang airport where he arrived in a Toyota car. Unsuspecting he then led investigators to the Piyaporn Place Hotel at the border in Mae Sai where a Burmese woman called Lawin Maew, 35, brought two Burmese women for sex.
When the man conducting the sting paid the agreed 3,000 baht for the women – aged 25 and 18 – the American and his accomplice and the sex workers were all arrested.
Albertson has been charged with human trafficking and will have his visa rescinded.
After the resolution of the human trafficking case he will be deported. He is considered a danger to Thailand.
Thai police are also contacting their counterparts in Myanmar to expand the inquiry to the associates of Lawin Maew.
