American teacher wanted for drug trafficking in US arrested in Krabi

An American teacher at an international school in Krabi province wanted by the US drug enforcement agency for narcotic trafficking charge was arrested today in the southern tourist town.
The arrest followed request made to the Royal Thai Police commissioner by the US Embassy in Bangkok to locate the suspect, Mr Alexander Jonathan Rosen, and arrest him for drug charges after US tracking revealed he escaped into Thailand.
Upon request by the US, checking of his enter and leave record by the Immigration Bureau showed he entered Thailand seven times in the past one year from October last year to January this year.
He first entered the country in October 2015 via Suvarnabhumi airport immigration office.
The other two entries were through border checkpoints at Sadao district of Songkhla.
The last entry in October last year was through Krabi airport’s immigration office.
He applied for temporary residence permit with supported evidence of employment permit as a English language teacher in Krabi, a permit to establish an English teaching school, and medical certification. However he had no work permit for teaching occupation.
He was however permitted to stay in the country until July 30 this year.
Upon getting all information, immigration and CSD police flew to the South and apprehended him.
He was being escorted to Bangkok for repatriation to the US for drug charge.
