A contingent of Thanyaburi police and soldiers yesterday raided business premises in Klong 4 of Pathum Thani after reports that they were being used to distribute electronic cigarettes.

Offenders selling the illegal goods face five years in jail or a fine of up to 500,000 baht or both.

Those producing or importing face double that – ten years and one million baht in fines.

The person running the premises admitted distribution but was not named in the report.

Taken into evidence were 40 E-cigarettes, 397 bottles of vaping fluid, 150 other items connected to the smoking of electronic cigarettes and 1,579 baht in cash.

Many top policemen and officials from consumer organizations were involved in the raid.
