Appeal to tourists! Please tell us if you see jet skis flouting ban in Krabi

Tourists in southern Thailand have been asked to contact the authorities if they see people on jet skis or sea scooters flouting a ban.

The appeal followed footage of a number of jet skis in the area of Khao Karos that is reserved for kayakers and the like. Khao Khram phu yai ban (local chief) Sucha Wansuk said that recently a company in Phuket had been bringing in tourists for 7,000 – 8,000 baht a head on jet ski tours. They had already been fined but someone was at it again. He asked for tourists or fishermen who see violators to contact the Than Bok Khorani national park or tour guides to help them rid the area of jet skis and scooters.
