The Thai army chief has given an assurance that the military is able to maintain order and support peace in the country.

Royal Thai Army Commander-in-Chief Gen. Teerachai Nakwanich, chaired a meeting of military chiefs and supervisors on Tuesday; it was his last before retirement at the end of September.

Gen. Teerachai offered his appreciation to all officers, who he said have dedicated themselves to serving the army and working collaboratively with the government.

He stated that the new army chief will be a senior officer, who is both highly knowledgeable and capable.

The incumbent Commander-in-Chief added that he hopes to see Thailand continue being peaceful and Thai people more united while doing all they can for the country.

Gen. Teerachai also confirmed that the Royal Thai Army will always stand ready to support the government’s efforts to solve any problems in the country.
