Army holds Children’s Day for kids in South

The Royal Thai Army is holding ‘ Children’s Day 2015’ for kids in the 3 southernmost provinces. Army Chief General Udomdej Seetabutr this
morning presided over the opening ceremony of this year’s Children’s Day at the 15th Infantry Division in Nongjik District. The event features a live performance, talent shows, a district-level street soccer competition, and many other activities. More than 4,000 children and parents have reportedly flocked the event since it opened. The activities are aimed at letting the children in the area have fun and giving them a chance to showcase their skills, opening their world, realizing their sense of self-worth, learning about their rights, duties, discipline, and responsibility for themselves and the society. The Army hopes to instill patriotism, conscious, good morals in the children, while encouraging adults to appreciate the importance of a happy childhood.
