Art Classes for Kids and Adults

Theerawat Chanstampbetter, known to his friends as Kaset found his love of, and talent for, art at a very early age. Having taking art classed all the way through school it seemed only natural that he would progress to the premier art school in Thailand Silpakorn University to further his studies.
This talented you artist has earned many prizes for his art that have been presented to him by not only the princess but the queen herself.
While at university Kaset spent his spare time teaching art and on completion of his studies he moved to Chaing Mai where he opened his first art gallery, although 2 months ago he decided to make Koh Samui his home and open the Kaset Art Studio here, the gallery in Chiang Mai is still in existence.
The Kaset Art Studio is open every day from 10am until 4pm. An art lesson takes around two hours and if you are older than five you are welcome to attend. The great news for parents is that you do not have to attend so this is a fabulous way to creatively give yourself some free time while your kids become happily creative. All materials, and drinking water, are provided and although it is better to book a lesson it is not essential.
Kaset offers art courses for those who are serious about improving their artistic talents. The kid’s art course consists of eight two hour lessons and adult’s six two hour lessons and after only two or three courses you can expect to have mastered the basics of art to a reasonable level.
Even though there are often many attending the class, of mixed ages and levels of experience Kaset gives everybody individual attention and different things to work on. You can join an art class no matter what sort of experience you have in art, even if you have never picked up a pencil or paintbrush before.
Kaset generally starts off showing you how to accomplish techniques such as using a sponge then moves onto pencil drawings, paint and acrylics but if there something specific you want to learn or there is a particular piece you want to paint or draw he is happy to tailor make you lessons to suit your needs.
As you would imagine Kaset is very creative and one of his current projects includes teaching the children how to make masks out of the husks found in coconut trees. He is also very flexible, so if you book to do a course and then find you have to go overseas or your schedule becomes hectic you are welcome to take a break and then rejoin the class when it is convenient. Equally if you cannot get enough of art then you can join in every day.
The Kaset Art Studio is on the Chaweng Lake road before you get to Cha Cha Moon Club if you are heading towards the beach road. There is plenty of roadside parking as well as further parking behind the studio that is light, airy, and comfortable with air conditioning. The classes are calming and relaxing for children and adults and learning art is a great way of learning to express yourself.
Everybody can master the basics of art, and lessons are also great for your hand to eye coordination and it is a great way of teaching children concentration, improving their motor skills and conceptual thinking, and like anything, learning while you are young is a great way of enjoying art for a lifetime.
