Australian man arrested at the Cambodian border with nearly one hundred bottles of liquid ketamine

On Monday Thai police and customs officials arrested Luke Craig McCann, a twenty two year old Australian man for smuggling nearly one hundred small bottles of liquid ketamine into Thailand from Cambodia, at a drug check point that had been set up at theAranyaprathet district of Sa Kaeo province to help stem the smuggling of illicit drugs into the country.
The ninety-six 10 milliliter bottles of liquid ketamine were found in his when the police carried out random checks on him and a group of foreign tourists as they entered Thailand from the Cambodian town of Poipet. Police also discovered 23 used syringes in Mr McCann’s baggage.
The suspect said he is employed as a contractor in Australia and that he purchased the drugs in Cambodia intending to sell and distribute the vials in Australia. However he claims that the syringes were not intended for the administration of the drug but instead used for the hormone injections he uses in his activities as a body builder.
Mr McCann was detained for further investigation at Klong Luek Police Station in Aranyaprathet.
