Authorities crack down on fake motorcycle taxis

The Commander of the 1st Division, King’s Guard, has called for the prosecution of groups falsely collecting motorcycle taxi fees.
Maj Gen Narongphun Jitkaewthae met with officials from the military, the Royal Thai Police, the Department of Land Transport and municipal authorities to follow up on the progress of regulating the motorcycle taxi business in Bangkok in the past 3 months.
The group particularly emphasized the prosecution of groups posing as government authorities, affirming that violators will be dealt with according to the government’s policies.
Authorities have been instructed to ensure that motorcycle taxis charge reasonable fees for their services, while the new round for motorcycle taxi applications has yet to open.
