Baby boy found dead in bag beside chapel at Nong Khai temple

A 2-3 week old baby boy was found dead inside a backpack at a temple in the center of Nong Khai in Thailand’s north east yesterday.
Dr Thossaporn Manneesrisatja who carried out an autopsy said that the infant had died from suffocation as a result of being in the zipoped up bag contained within a plastic bag.
There were no injuries on the body and he had already been dead about 12 hours. He was wrapped in toweling cloth.
Bunpeng, a 70 year old cleaner at the temple said he noticed the bag by the chapel before going home but thought it probably belonged to a tourist.
When he returned it was still there so he opened it and called 191.
Police are studying CCTV to find out who left the boy to at the temple.
